- I cannot bring myself to do things like that. It seems too fake to me, to use cheats and stuff to fake a job in some rando's house... I get The Sims has a lot of creative thinking behind gameplay, but... I see things too literal at the same time, so I would need an elaborate mod to do such things.0
- I do! I love coming up with 'fake jobs.' Lol, make the game a little more interesting. I think I'll try nanny next! My current sim is currently doing the uh ... courtesan career track. So we'll see how far that goes before I get bored.
I would love to hear about the other jobs you made up!! What is the courtesan career like? How exactly do you work it & how much does your sim make? And what other 'fake jobs ' have you tried out? Thanks!! - I cannot bring myself to do things like that. It seems too fake to me, to use cheats and stuff to fake a job in some rando's house... I totally understand! Sometimes I strictly play the game how it is meant to be played, but whenever I get bored with that my imagination takes over lol! I do also love changing gameplay up with mods, like the mod to lower wages for the regular careers to a more life-like hourly pay, etc. And thankfully there are tons of gameplay enhancement mods!! - I've done this! Also done a fake cleaner/chief job by moving my sim into a rich household. My most recent 'fake' job is when my klepto sim swipes something, I'll price it & add the amount to her account, it isn't so much a 'fake job' more so a broken feature (because the stuff my sim swipes doesn't go into her inventory).
I also keep track of my sims finance and have a fake banking system set up. This way my sims can 'loan' money from the bank (so they can upgrade their house or buy a business etc) & then pay it back over time plus interest. My sim only recently finished paying off her $300,000 loan (which ended up being $330,000 with the interest). But it feels nice having her own everything now and be debt free! - I love making live-in maids/nannies. I can't stand the game butlers or nannies. The butler is the same in every household which really messes up my stories, and the nannies talk to everyone in the house soo much and often ignore the babies! Eventually when the kids are old enough I have the maid or nanny move out and give them their own life, but I don't really keep track of the money. It's a good idea though, I might try that out in the future.

It's a lot harder than I realized (but it could be the traits I chose for my sim girl!). It's goes in lieu with the working girl challenge and I use this mod to get the dinero but unfortunately, not every sim pays once the work is done. So trying to get to the pent house has been a lot harder than I anticipated!
Other careers I have included live-in maid & butler, nanny (though I like your criteria better and may try that!), caregiver for an elder sim (she basically fixed his meals, cleaned his house, took him to the park for fresh air etc), after school tutor (which is hard to do, I found it sort of easier in Sims 3 after building a relationship with the kids but I haven't done it fully in the Sims 4 yet, so we'll see!) I also one built a mansion that I treated like a dorm and had my YA sim be the 'dorm advisor' to all the teen sims. I pretended as if they were all attending a boarding school. The Dorm advisor might be A LOT more fun now that the parenthood game pack is out.supersonic, simobotic, disconnected, not respected, who would ever really wanna go and top that?1 - I've done the nanny/male nanny type thing, but I've also done the gardener, painter, and the writer thing like their self-employed. The thing is whenever I do the nanny or male nanny thing they usually become the parent of the homeowners children.
I've also done the live-in boyfriend/boy-toy thing where they'll be the adult in the house with the toddlers but again, they usually wind up becoming the parent of the homeowners kids.
I don't want/trust the in-game nannies I mostly get male ones who are creepy and for some reason favoring the infant girl twins over the infant boys. I've even fired them because they were acting creepy that way just to have the same one come back making me have to fire them again and take other measures. But at least they don't wet themselves anymore.Celebrating 8 years on Thesims.com. Simming proudly since 2001.
